More Minecraft with Kain!

Kaintheslayer, aka my fellow Nerd Herder, has started a single player Let’s Play for Minecraft with a Dr. Doom theme! If it sounds interesting to you, feel free to check it out and subscribe to his channel for more Minecraft videos!

Gotye never sounded so truthful.

“You are a fool.”

So I always thought being an Auror was the coolest job in the Harry Potter universe. Apparently I’m not alone.

Hawthorne is the force’s newest recruit and the dark criminals’ latest threat. Plunging into the nightmare that his occupation offers, he makes quick enemies of the most depraved wizard gang in America: the ever violent, ever twisted Hellhounds.

There’s a 10-part webseries on the way featuring all original characters (avoiding the inevitable failings of trying to impersonate J.K. Rowling’s main characters). And the graphics look AWESOME. I’ll definitely be tuning in!

“My name is Lizzie Bennet, and this is my life.”

Remember the days of lonelygirl15? Y’know, back before we all found out it was fake? Since then, countless webseries have appeared on YouTube trying to capture that same magic that made LG15 an internet phenomenon. I enjoy watching vloggers on YouTube more than webseries, but this?

This…is freaking genius. WHY DIDN’T I COME UP WITH THIS?! *headdesk*

Ladies and gents, meet Lizzie Bennet — the 2012 edition. Yes, that’s right. A webseries that, in vlog form, retells Jane Austen’s classic novel Pride & Prejudice for the social networking generation. And trust me, you don’t have to be a lit nerd or an Austen fan to fall in love with this webseries. The characters are ridiculously likable, the production is nice but not over-the-top, and the story? As true to the novel as can be, but with fresh and hilarious updates. As someone who’s a huge fan of the movie Clueless (which was based off of Jane Austen’s novel Emma), I’m always up for a good retelling of Jane Austen for a younger generation…if it’s done right.

This? Is so right.

Watch the first episode below, then feel free to follow Lizzie (and the other characters) on the show’s website, Tumblr, Twitter, and Facebook.

What do you think of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries? What are some of your other favorite YouTube webseries?

“And we’re on to the Hunger Games competition already.”

The Boyfriend and part of the Nerd Herd are starting a new Minecraft web series! So naturally, I decided to give them a bit of a boost here. :) Check out the first video below where the guys chat, build stuff, and randomly attack each other! The audio and commentary are a work in progress, but they’re pretty goofy so check it out if you’re so inclined. (The Boyfriend = Wildonion, FYI.)
