So with my Big Bang Theory obsession ever-growing, the announcement that Wil Wheaton himself will be at Denver Comic Con (June 15-17, 2012) might have made me squeal out loud. And clap my hands rapidly in a fangirl-like fashion.
Widely known as Wesley Crusher on Star Trek; The Next Generation and from the classic movie, Stand By Me, Wil Wheaton is the latest guest added to the impressive Denver Comic Con line up. An accomplished actor, writer, tweeter, and blogger whom has developed a mind blowing cult following. He can also be seen on his recurring role on the smash hit comedy series, The Big Bang Theory and Felicia Day’s gaming-centric web series, The Guild.
Truth be told, I’m still very on the fence about whether or not I’ll be able to go to DCC (timing, money, hotel/transportation, etc.), but GAAAAAHHHHHH I MUST MEET WIL WHEATON.
Oh, and also:
famous stunt coordinator and legendary light sabre wielding guru Nick Gillard has come on to do an exclusive Jedi Fighting Master Class. Gillard is known as the swordmaster behind the thrilling choreograph and stage combat of the Jedi for the original Star Wars films as well as the of training Jedi Knights – Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, as well as Ray Park and Christopher Lee.
AKHDJSKFHJDSKGFJDSGHKJDFG WAAAAAAAAANT. Okay, okay, I know I’ve only just recently seen the entire Star Wars movies and I’m still making my way through The Clone Wars, but even *I* know how badass of an opportunity this would be.
Right now I still have concerns that may keep me from going, but if you don’t, BUY TICKETS NOW. I think we all want this inaugural Denver Comic Con to be amazing so they’ll keep coming back!
I’m not even gonna try and explain the most recent gap between posts. But let me tell you, this semester has been FUN. I mean, just look at my happy face: :|
In the meantime, I’ve been keeping up with my bucket list a bit. I’ve begun watching The Clone Wars animated series and I’m nearly done with season one. So far it’s pretty good, and I’ve heard it gets much, much better as the series goes on. I’ve been trying to keep that in mind, since this first season is definitely pandering to fans of the prequel movies (because those fans exist?).
Of course, Obi-Wan is awesome and flawless and the best character on the show. *girlish sigh* I wish I liked Ahsoka Tano more, but so far I’ve nicknamed her Catchphrase Girl™ because everything she says is cheesy and out-of-place. Hopefully they develop her character better later on, though this is Star Wars we’re talking about. Princess Leia is the only redeeming female character in that entire universe that I’ve seen so far.
(But, okay. I’ve kind of adopted the phrase “Artooey” and often squeal as I say it. BUT HE IS JUST SO SMALL AND CUTE AND SQUEE. OMG.)
I’ve also decided that over the summer, I’ll start playing Skyrim. IT LOOKS SO SHINY. And I’ve heard some rumblings that it’s an awesome game. Y’know, here ‘n there. ;) But since I’m on spring break this week, I’m gonna try and catch up with Lego: Pirates of the Caribbean. I’ve nearly completed all of the story levels, then I can go back and snag all of the bonus stuff.
My Magic: The Gathering deck is finally complete, and a post about that will surface someday. In the distant future. In a galaxy far, far away…
LIFE. MIDTERMS. IT’S ALL GOING TO EAT ME ALIVE AAAAAHHHH. D:
Hopefully that explains my brief absence. If not…you’ve never been a college student. Anywho, Apple’s iOS 5 software update was released on Wednesday, and with it came a brand-new alert tones store. The current top alert tone, you ask?
That’s right. I cannot tell you how fun it is to have R2-D2 as my text message alert tone. I also snagged Darth Vader breathing and Agnes from Despicable Me (“IT’S SO FLUFFY I’M GONNA DIE”). Now, if only they’d get a few GLaDOS tones…
Ringtones have been available for purchase for a while, but the Alert Tones are a brand new offering.
Ringtones are $1.29 and alert tones are $0.99.
To get to the Tones Store, head to Settings/Sounds and select any of the tone options. Then click “Buy More Tones” at the top of that window.
Who else has snagged some of these awesome nerdy alert tones?
