So I always thought being an Auror was the coolest job in the Harry Potter universe. Apparently I’m not alone.
Hawthorne is the force’s newest recruit and the dark criminals’ latest threat. Plunging into the nightmare that his occupation offers, he makes quick enemies of the most depraved wizard gang in America: the ever violent, ever twisted Hellhounds.
There’s a 10-part webseries on the way featuring all original characters (avoiding the inevitable failings of trying to impersonate J.K. Rowling’s main characters). And the graphics look AWESOME. I’ll definitely be tuning in!
Remember the days of lonelygirl15? Y’know, back before we all found out it was fake? Since then, countless webseries have appeared on YouTube trying to capture that same magic that made LG15 an internet phenomenon. I enjoy watching vloggers on YouTube more than webseries, but this?
This…is freaking genius. WHY DIDN’T I COME UP WITH THIS?! *headdesk*
Ladies and gents, meet Lizzie Bennet — the 2012 edition. Yes, that’s right. A webseries that, in vlog form, retells Jane Austen’s classic novel Pride & Prejudice for the social networking generation. And trust me, you don’t have to be a lit nerd or an Austen fan to fall in love with this webseries. The characters are ridiculously likable, the production is nice but not over-the-top, and the story? As true to the novel as can be, but with fresh and hilarious updates. As someone who’s a huge fan of the movie Clueless (which was based off of Jane Austen’s novel Emma), I’m always up for a good retelling of Jane Austen for a younger generation…if it’s done right.
This? Is so right.
What do you think of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries? What are some of your other favorite YouTube webseries?
