I finally watched Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and all of the critics who wrote up great reviews when it first opened in theaters were right: I’m definitely kicking myself for not having seen this movie in theaters when I had the chance. I’m sure it would’ve looked AMAZING on the big screen. Still, it was a wonderful movie that was so visually delicious I could’ve eaten it up. I’d heard that some people weren’t into the ending — that it wasn’t very realistic — but I thought both Scott and Ramona had learned what they needed (for example, “Scott has gained the power of SELF-RESPECT!”) in order to have a stable and successful relationship with each other. Sometimes endings can be sweet and realistic, though it’s usually a difficult feat to pull off in general. I honestly with more movies were made like this, because it had me within the first five minutes.
Oh, and I want the soundtrack. Really bad. iTunes account, Y U NO FULL OF MONEY??
Also, I have now seen both Episode IV: A New Hope and Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. So far I love R2-D2 more than everyone else, which usually happens to me while watching movies. For example, when watching The Boyfriend’s favorite movie, Alien, I honestly only cared if the cat made it out alive. No, Sigourney Weaver, I don’t care if you make it out alive. But that cat of yours had better survive or I will cut someone. I also may or may not continually laugh out loud at how constantly hilarious C-3PO and R2-D2’s friendship is.
Hans Han/Leia are absolutely killing me — it hurts so good. There’s multiple reasons why I love them more than Anakin/Padme, the main one being that the latter pairing drove me crazy with their sappy puppy-eyes and very awkward and staged interaction; at least, that’s how it came off to me. Sadly, their “relationship” was a big reason why I had trouble enjoying the prequel movies, however, I must take this opportunity to thank Ewan McGregor for making it all worth it. Ah well, I’m loving the original trilogy so far and I’m still glad I watched all of the movies in order.
College has started up again, and while procrastination is always fun I’m not going to try and stick to a posting schedule this semester. Just think of it as getting extra-long blog posts, instead of mini-updates. I wish those of you who are also back in school a successful semester/year/etc., and I hope those of you who are still on vacation or out of school altogether suffer miserably for your crimes are enjoying yourselves!

Yay, I’m so glad you watched Scott Pilgrim. I love that movie, easily one of my favorite movies of all time.
I liked Jar Jar Binks, and I felt so dumb when I got older and realized that everyone hated him. I’m not entirely sure why he was in the movie, he was annoying. Also, the family that I work with is so in love with star wars (the same family who I talked about HP with.)
And trust me,being out of school is not as glamorous as people make it out to be. I’m yearnin’ for some learnin’.
It was so good, I’m still mad at myself for not seeing it sooner! I wasn’t sure I’d like all of the stylized bits but it looked wonderful!
OMG, Jar Jar made me want to claw my eyes and ears out. He was so ridiculous! And poorly planned, I think; he didn’t have more than one or two lines after The Phantom Menace, so why was he such a big deal in that movie? Seemed like an excuse for cheap laughs to me. :/
